Belafonte, Huff, and Stanberry Honored at Fifth Annual Care for Kids Gala

More than 250 guests filled the Millennium Broadway Hotel’s Hudson Theatre on December 5 for the Fifth Annual “Care for Kids” Awards Gala, hosted by the 1199SEIU/Employer Child Care Corporation. Child Care Corporation President Vivian Fox greeted the guests, stating “At its core, our program curriculum is designed to plant the seeds of curiosity in our young people and to encourage them to fully explore and actualize their potential.” Students from the Harlem School of the Arts performed “Sweet’s Sweet Suite;” a sharp and whimsical dance number choreographed by Aubrey Lynch II. The stellar performance reinforces the Corporation’s commitment to helping families enhance the lives of their children by giving them the tools and exposure to unique experiences. Honorees included Harry Belafonte, actor and UNICEF Ambassador; Janice Huff, Chief Meteorologist, WNBC News; and Dr. Lawrence R. Stanberry, Chairman, Department of Pediatrics Physician-in-Chief, Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.
